Camilla Parker Bowles has become one of the UK’s most beloved members of the British royal family since her marriage to King Charles in 2005. Over the years, Camilla has gained the love and admiration of the public with her long-standing support of her husband, and her dedication to her many charities, including the National Literacy Trust and Refuge.
Her position was cemented in 2023 when she was crowned Her Majesty the Queen, after the Coronation of her husband, King Charles III.
London has become the main backdrop for their story, with their beloved Clarence House being their primary residence. The city is also where Camilla is most often seen out and about at royal engagements – offering the ultimate showcase where the world can see what she gets up to around London.
With that in mind, I have discovered what Camilla loves most about London with a sprinkling of some of her favourite things: from top designer brands, stores and even the legendary hair salon she frequents.
Here are Camilla Parker Bowles’ favourite things in London.
Launer Handbags
The luxury heritage brand, Launer, is one of the world’s most sought-after labels. For over 80 years these beautiful handbags have been crafted with the finest workmanship, taking quiet dedication and many hours to complete.
The brand has become known for their ‘twisted rope’ emblem, as well as their vibrant variety of colours.
Launer was also known to be one of the preferred brands of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for over fifty years. It is now a favourite of Her Majesty Queen Camilla who is often seen carrying the elegant Launer brand.
Camilla even visited the Launer factory in 2020 to learn about the traditional process of making each handbag, as well as meeting the artisans who bring the creations to life. Camilla – keeping on brand – arrived that day with her Tosca Black Clutch bag.
It was during this visit that Camilla was presented with the Judi bag from the Legacy Collection.
Wiltons
I have a personal story related to Her Majesty Queen Camilla if you’ll indulge me. You may have noticed from the photos above, I am sitting next to her son, the brilliant food writer, Tom Parker Bowles at legendary Wiltons restaurant.
I had the great pleasure of interviewing Tom for my TV series Restaurants of London. The series a food travelogue and guide to some of the most iconic restaurants in the city.
I chose to interview Tom at Wiltons knowing this was one of his favourite restaurants, as it is a place he has frequented with his mother, Her Majesty Queen Camilla.
It was fascinating hearing his stories and his love of Wiltons. In the episode, you can see his great knowledge of the restaurant and the great history behind this landmark restaurant.
If you’re wondering what Tom and I ate, we were positively spoilt for choice with a classic selection including Beef Consommé, Dover Sole Meuniere, and Welsh Rarebit with a dash of Lea and Perrins. In fact, these were Tom’s personal food choices, so you’ll know they’ll be excellent.
Anna Valentine
British fashioner designer, Anna Valentine, is one the UK’s most in-demand designers of womenswear. Based out of her Marylebone atelier, her clothes are imagined with elegance and flair – making sure every client looks effortlessly sophisticated.
Queen Camilla personally chose Anna Valentine, along with her designing partner Antonia Robsinson, to create two stunning wedding day outfits in 2005.
This relationship continues to this day, with Anna Valentine being one of a handful of designers Camilla always chooses to wear. More recently, Camilla was spotted at the ‘Hamnet’ film screening, wearing a stunning black embellished gown, which was covered across the news.
Fish & Chips
A ‘proper’ fish and chips is the dish that Queen Camilla craves the most – and who could blame her. London is home to a wealth of the best fish and ‘chippies’ yet our down-to-earth Queen loves them wrapped in good old-fashioned paper, according to her son, the food writer Tom Parker Bowles.
I love the fact that of all the food there is to choose from, this hearty, fuss-free dish is one of her favourites. And while we can’t pinpoint the exact ‘chippy’ Queen Camilla enjoys the most, we have a selection that we think is going to satisfy any craving.
For some of the best fried fish in London, Greenwich is home to The Golden Chippy, which is consistently beats many of the top restaurants on TripAdvisor. If you are looking for more of a restaurant experience then The Mayfair Chippy is one of London’s most sought-after tables.
Fortnum & Mason
The legendary Fortnum & Mason store, established in 1707, is the crown jewel along London’s famous Piccadilly. The distinguished Fortnum’s name is world-renowned for the producing the finest tea, luxury food, confectionary, and exquisite home goods.
The department store has a long and trusted association with the Royal Family and has proudly held the Royal warrant for over 125 years.
Queen Camilla is also a great fan of the store, visiting on many social engagements, as well as for personal visits.
In December 2024, Camilla was spotted browsing the famous tea hall on the ground floor. Her husband, King Charles, is a huge fan of the Darjeeling blend, so perhaps that was one of his gifts that Christmas – tea does make a delightful present, after all.
Camilla has also been spotted supporting her son, the writer Tom Parker Bowles at his numerous events at the store. He has written some fantastic Fortnum’s books, which I highly recommend, particularly The Cookbook.
Jo Hansford
Top celebrity stylist, Jo Hansford, has been tending to the hair of some of the world’s biggest celebrities for over 30 years. Her client list reads like a who’s who including Elizabeth Hurley, Angelina Jolie, and Sienna Miller. Jo is well-regarded as one of the premier hair colour experts and was even dubbed the first lady of colour.
One of Jo’s most long-standing and loyal clients is Her Majesty Queen Camilla. It is a relationship that has spanned over 35 years, with Jo being responsible for some of Camilla’s most high-profile public engagements. In fact, it was Jo who tinted Camilla’s hair before her engagement announcement to His Majesty King Charles.
Jo also was tasked with looking after Camilla’s hair for her beautiful wedding at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.
This dedication to proving the best colour and styling was rewarded by receiving the Royal Warrant for services to HM Queen Camilla.
Philip Treacy
Hat designer, Phillip Treacy, has been at the cutting edge of millinery since opening his first showroom in 1991. His statement hats are wearable pieces of art and have been worn by stars of high fashion and celebrity, including Lady Gaga, Madonna, and Victoria Beckham.
His designs are also coveted by members of the British Royal Family, with Camilla in particular, championing his exquisite creations. It was in 2004 that Philip Treacy was granted the Royal Warrant by Queen Camilla.
Camilla has worn these beautiful hats on several prestigious occasions including the magnificent headpiece worn so elegantly on her wedding day to King Charles.
Fiona Clare
Fiona Clare is one of London’s leading couturiers with an award-winning legacy of elegant, bespoke designs. It is this commitment to classic cuts which has ensured a long-standing relationship with Her Majesty Queen Camilla.
Over the years, Fiona has become a trusted designer, with her chic, yet attention-grabbing designs that ensures Camilla is always photo ready.
One standout design was the Emerald green gown Camilla wore to a State Banquet at Windsor Castle in 2025. Her Majesty also wore Fiona’s designs to the historic Rome visit, alongside her husband, King Charles.
